RE: AC pump replacement - sluggo - 06-01-2018 to finalize this, the new pump was put in, and everything worked just fine!! Pumping like crazy!! So to summarize a bit, Dometic makes the red pump that comes with the boat (and that was the pump that finally worked) . supposedly they make a generic pump that has the same characteristics as the red pump, but is blue without Dometic on the pump (really I dont know if this is true or I got BS) anyway the blue is about $100 cheaper, and that's what we started with and did not work. We sent it back and got the Red, and put it in with no problems and it, as mentioned is working fine. So was the blue pump a defective? or did it just not have enough humpf to work? I dont know but I am happy to have my A/C back. RE: AC pump replacement - jclark003 - 06-01-2018 Most likely defective. No pump should shut off on its own after a few seconds. Glad it worked out for you and you are able to keep cool. RE: AC pump replacement - trit21 - 06-05-2018 Dometic does not make pumps, they purchase them and put their name on them. Pump in question are made by March. Most likely series 3 possibly series 5 (haven't read the entire thread here). Here is a website for the March series 3 pump RE: AC pump replacement - sluggo - 06-05-2018 (06-05-2018, 06:59 AM)trit21 Wrote:thanks for the info, there is Dometic stamped on the pump, so that is why we assumed they made it, I will pass this along. Have you hooked the old one back up? Perhaps the old one wasn't pumping enough because it wasn't getting the amps it needed from the controller board. Are there any errors on the control panel? I chased a similar problem last year and it turn out to be a bad control panel. After I replaced the pump and the circuit board.the only error I've gotten is HPF which occurred when the pump wasn't pumping any water, I assume it went into some sort of 'protection' mode as it should. the pump could have been air bound RE: AC pump replacement - sluggo - 09-12-2018 (09-12-2018, 01:17 PM)justrollin Wrote:(05-31-2018, 08:38 AM)sluggo Wrote:(05-31-2018, 07:38 AM)Matta0413 Wrote: The fact that the old one was pumping fine just starting to wear out and now a new pump on the same wiring is not working is strange. It turns out the line from the thru hull to the pump had several checks or breaks in it, and yes was sucking air. We replaced that hose (maybe at most 12"?) and it pumps like a champ now!!! |
