Stress Cracks - TripleStrength - 04-20-2015 I have a 2007 38 Open that I recently had pulled to have bottom painted. Afterwards I noticed that stress cracks formed on the port side near the rub rail where the strap was placed. Is this normal after years of pulling or did the shipyard do something wrong? Tom TripleStrength RE: Stress Cracks - TIARA44 - 04-21-2015 I have stress cracks as well on my 2005 Sovran. They appear to be cosmetic only. My 38 has some "crazing" too. has nothing to do with hauling and nothing to do with the structural integrity of the boat. Mine are nowhere near the sling marks. I have a couple near a rod holder, and a couple on the cap rail. I wish they weren't there but they are. just about every boat I have ever had has had them.
