Fresh Water Tank Removal - TheCooperCrew - 06-07-2015
I have a 1990 Open with the aluminum fresh water tank that is leaking quiet a bit from the welds. Just curious if anyone has removed one and how? I am really not wanting to cut through the floor to remove it.

I have the same problem. After much investigation I plumes the tank pump to the fresh water intake put a strainer and 3m .02 micron filter on and it works great. Can not drink the water but we never did. Cost about $300.

[But you still can't have water at sea, right? I get fresh water from the dock through the freshwater inlet without any pump because my freshwater hose inlet bypasses the tank. If I fill up the water tank thru the tank fill, the water leaks out of the corroded holes once the pump puts pressure to it. Tiara CS mentioned using a plasma cutter to cut the tank out and install a new one, or cut an opening in the tank and install a bladder as options. Guess I'm going to give it some more thought and work on it as my winter project ]
