Hatch Motors. - Capt. Dick - 06-22-2015

I have a problem with raising my hatch. I replaced the switch, but that did not help. Does anyone know if the hatch motors have a reset button.

The hatch motor screws(motors) have 2 relays each on the back side of the helm. Once again, lift the helm back and all the way to the starboard side you will notice 6 ice cube size relays. The 4 closest to you while standing on the steps that go downstairs are the relays you want. The 2 on the starboard side is for the starboard lift motor and the 2 on the port are for the port lift motor. As a matter of fact I just replaced my starboard ones with new relays as they were intermittently operating, sometime fine, sometimes not at all. I was going to take a photo of that area for my documentation and put in in the schematics I have for the entire boat but just didn't do it yet. Pretty easy fix. I found relays at Marine Connection in Ft Pierce, $10 each. You can also order them online but make sure you get the correct one.

You need SINGLE POLE DOUBLE THROW relays. There will be 5 lugs on the back, not 4.

I was also assuming you check the circuit breaker on the helm under or to the side of the steering wheel so make sure it was reset, otherwise push that in and try the hatch first. Smile
