Swim platform water intrusion - jaywilliam - 07-10-2012 Has anyone experienced water intrusion in a four foot swim platform on a 35' Express(1996)? There are stress cracks around the four D-rings mounted to the platform on the top in the corners. What is necessary for a permanent solution? Any help would be appreciated. Swim platform water intrusion - ReelNauti - 07-11-2012 I have a '94 29 Open and found my platform core is wet. I've suspected it for years as the mounting bolts always showed some slight rust stains. I pulled a few this spring and found the core is soaked. A permanent solution will vary. It may only require the surrounding area to be dug out and epoxy filled. My intention is to pull the platform in the fall, cut the skin from underneath, recore and reseal. I suspect mine is pretty wet from what I saw. I plan on doing the same for my deck hatches. One has a lot if spider cracks and the other has a noticable soft spot. If the work is done from the bottom you'll never notice it or even care if it's not visually perfect.
