TV installation in 3100 open - rose_surfer - 02-28-2016 Just finished my first project in my 89 3100 open - mounted a 19" 12V tv/dvd combo. Decided to use an articulating wall mount rated for a 42" plasma just to make sure there wouldn't be any issues whatsoever with dynamic loads. I installed it on the galley bulkhead so that depending on how you swing it, its viewable from the v-berth, dinette, or both. I wanted to power the tv by 12V so I had to install a new 12V outlet in the galley. This part didn't go so well. Decided on a 12V socket/dual usb combo for extra utility, that I installed just above the existing 110V GFI. Anyone thinking of copying this setup beware - do not mount the outlet where I did. There's probably room to mount a single outlet, but the double was too big, and I ended up having to route out portions of the strips that join the cabinet panels. Lots of work and I still didn't have room to screw on the gaskets that secure the sockets to the trim plate. Pics below... RE: TV installation in 3100 open - rose_surfer - 02-29-2016 Don't remember exactly but very similar to this one, which is a heck of a deal: you just need to check compatibility of the VESA mounting hole pattern with your TV RE: TV installation in 3100 open - Fiddlehead - 02-29-2016 Well done! |
