1989 36' Open - wannatiara - 11-19-2012

Hello all,
First time post here. Looking at a 1989 36' Open would like to know what to look for specific to this model amd year. Boat is cosmetically in average shape. Motors have 1050 hours on 454's..it appears most of the electronics are original. What would be a fair price if I decide to go forward. Thanks in advance

I would check the anchor locker hatch cover. When they cut out for the latch they cut into the balsa core creating a leak and the hatch goes soft. An easy and cheap fix. Also look at the aft deck and check for soft spots. The rest of the boat is solid. My '88 has been afloat its entire life and has no blisters. The engines may need elbows and risers. The gelcoat will look like new with a coat of 3M Cleaner Wax. Throw away the Loran. The price depends on condition, check on Yacht World. Capt. George

I have a 1986 36' Open. I don't intend to be rude, but the possible price is all over the place. Before you consider price, I would get a good surveyor. That will tell you everything. Good luck
