04-06 32 tiara open dry weight - reeltimebrad - 12-14-2016
Could someone explain why a 2004 32 open has a published dry weight of 12,500 and a 2006 is 15,950. I'm very interested in getting one of these but can not understand the difference in weight.

The 12,500 can not be correct. We own a 2004 3200 and I've been meaning to ask my marina guy what it weighs when it is in the Travelhoist. The 12,500 is "dry" but what engines? Genny? Hardtop? I'm betting our boat tops 18,000 pounds with full fuel, water, normal gear and waste tank full. Surely someone has weighed one of these boats.

Surely this depends on options. Hardtop, generator, fishing rigging, live well, swim platform, electronics, etc. all add up.

I've never seen a 32 without a hard top but you're absolutely right about options. The factory states the weight of the boat only. Before all of these things are added. On many of the new boats that we can order for inventory we order them without electronics or any of the other gear that you've mentioned so that the buyer can rig them the way they would like. The other factor would be the diesel engines weigh a little more.

Ours is a 2004. I believe the hardtop was an option costing around 20,000. Most of us bought the boats that way. Today they are standard on current models as you know.
