Trolling valve issues - Adventurous Soul - 01-13-2017 Recently , I've noticed my port prop spins ever so slowly even when in neutral. I've had the trolling valve manually disconnected when I bought the boat . I might reconnect the cable to the trolling valve actuator to exersize the the solenoid valve. I'm hoping this stops the prop from spinning in neutral . The tranny oil was changed right before I took possession of the vessel . Has anyone ever experienced this with their ZF trans & trolling valve ??? Thanks , Rich RE: Trolling valve issues - Crackofdawn - 01-15-2017 I can't add any knowledge to this because the boat is new to me, ...for good or bad, my stbd shaft also rotates very slow in neutral, very little pressure can stop it and I don't notice movement of the boat as a result. I do not have trolling valves, i am interested to see what others stay. I was hoping this was normal, I have seen it on other boats as well. RE: Trolling valve issues - Crackofdawn - 01-18-2017 For what it is worth.....I paid a little more attention to this the last time I had the boat out. Shaft spins slowly in neutral when I first crank up, I ran about 20 miles and checked it again and it was stationary, no spinning. RE: Trolling valve issues - Adventurous Soul - 01-18-2017 Unfortunately I believe I'm going to pulling the port transmission, I was talking to several shops over the last week . There are a few test that will be performed this Friday at my dock on my transmission. Worst case scenario for me is a clutch pack will have to be replaced . Hopefully it's a smaller issue . But I have a sickening feeling that I'll be shelling out some big bucks . Has anyone ever had a clutch pack replaced in their ZF tranny ? What are some ball park #'s ? Not in a happy place Rich RE: Trolling valve issues - jclark003 - 01-23-2017 (01-18-2017, 08:28 PM)Adventurous Soul Wrote: Unfortunately I believe I'm going to pulling the port transmission, I was talking to several shops over the last week .
