fresh water pump replacement - reeltimebrad - 04-06-2017
I've got a shur-flo 5901-0201 pump that seems to continually lose prime and then just hums until a fixture is opened and the air is purged out of the lines. I have replaced all the o-rings to no avail. I understand that this pump is no longer made. Is there a good replacement?

If you loose the prime the most likely problem must be on the low pressure side and lies between the pump and the tank and the usual problem is the gasket on the strainer. Capt. george

Thats what i thought also so I replaced all the orings with same result. My next move may be to remove filter basket and temporarily plumb directly to the tank.
