helm console bouncing - JTQ - 08-04-2017 Hi, I have seen a few posts on how to tilt the helm console with friction latches. My issue is that the helm console bounces an inch or so when going through chop/waves. I feel like the friction latches haven't fully engaged or closed properly. Is there any special technique to closing and securing the helm console? Or is it normal for it to bounce? Boat is new to me so appreciate any feedback. 2007 Tiara 3000. Thanks. It sounds like the friction pads are not fully engaged, you can tell if the helm easily tilts back. If thats the case try using a little force to reengage them if that does not work try a little petroleum jelly wd-40 etc. on the pads. I usually have to forcefully push down on the forward edge of the helm to lock it in. RE: helm console bouncing - JTQ - 08-05-2017 Thanks, I will give that a try. |
