2900 Tiara -Live well pump - ccouncill - 08-12-2013 2004 -2900 is new to me and live well pump is not working- assume it is seperate from the raw water pump. Is is located in the engine compartment starboard side? Thanks for any input 2900 Tiara -Live well pump - Chris Burkard - 08-13-2013 Yes, the live well pump is different from the raw water washdown pump. The raw water wash down pump is a high pressure intermittent pump. The live well pump is a low pressure continuous duty pump. Generally bilge style pumps are used in special housings for live well applications. These pumps are not able to lift water, so they are usually located below waterline and very close to the thru-hull intake valve. If you have the factory live well (mounted behind the helm seat), then yes, the pump should be located in the engine room behind the engine and transmission (Starboard side). This pump if factory is likely a Rule 500 or 750. Before you buy an expensive live-well pump ($75 - $125), make sure you have power going into and out of the live well switch and make sure your breakers are on. It could easily be a bad breaker or bad switch or even a loose wire. Good Luck! |
