Charging System - CaptBrett - 09-09-2017

Anyone put in a new battery charger on their TIARA? We have a '01 38 Open with 450 Cummins.

Lost my battery charging system this am, pretty sure.

What brands did anyone use?

What do you currently have installed? Tiara is pretty good at picking quality components for their boats so I would probably stick with/replace whatever they put in there.

I have a Charles c-power 5000, 100 amp charger with a c-power next step regulator. Seems to work fine and keep up with full electrical load.

FYI..........direct from Charles website

Due to multiple factors, including: component availability, market demand, competing technologies, regulatory changes, and a corporate strategic shift away from printed circuit design and assembly, Charles Industries elected to immediately commence manufacture discontinuation (MD) actions for the majority of its Marine & Industrial Products effective November 17, 2016.

Marine MD Press Release

Charles will continue to offer various Industrial Products
as listed above under "Industrial Solutions."

Technical Support and repair services for Manufacture Discontinued products will continue
to be provided beyond the MD date for products under warranty.

BatteryStuff.com is worth a look.

Good luck.

If it's a Charles Charger just send it back for repair.  They have a flat rate repair service that I have used with great success. As I recall they fixed my charger for about $125.  Great company to deal with and and real quality products.

From statement above and on the website for Charles, seems they are only servicing or repairing marine units that still under warranty. Is that correct?

RE: Charging System - Uhehner - 09-18-2017

Within the past year I sent an old, out of warranty charger back to Charles and they repaired it for the flat rate that as I recall was about $125 with shipping.
