Any ideas on fuel injection cleaner added to tanks for a 1998 454 XLI engines how often?

If you are going to use fuel additives such as fuel injection cleaner, I would follow the manufactures recommendations for amount and frequency. Don't expect miracles in a bottle however. If you have clogged injectors, it is unlikely that a bottle of fuel injection cleaner will solve your problem, it may make it better, but not completely fix it. If you do have clogged injectors, I would have then professionally cleaned.

Your boat has aluminum fuel tanks and if you are running E-10, I would look into an ethanol fuel conditioner. Ethanol attracts moisture and moisture in an aluminum fuel tank is a disaster waiting to happen if you let your boat sit for prolonged periods of time. If you run your boat regularly, it should not become an issue. These conditioners usually have fuel stabilizers as well.

If you are running rec fuel (no ethanol), then I would look into a fuel stabilizer if you let your boat sit for more than a month or so without use.

Thanks for the reply I use E-10 but run the boat weekly but will also lay it up for the winter. Nothing wrong with the engines just thought cleaner may help prevent any problems. Will take your advice on stabilizer in the tank just in case there is any water in the tank from previous owner.

Since you are using E-10, find a conditioner that treats ethanol and is a fuel stabilizer. I would add it each time you fuel up. There are a few manufacturers of ethanol treatment. If you google it, you may get an idea of which is best to use.

I added a cleaner for injectors and water made by startron with in 15 minutes of run time I could tell the difference in each motor, much smoother.
