I presently own a 38' Open (2003) and am more than please with the boat and its performance, straight drives.... IMO the 38 is a better choice as its much bigger overall than the 36' The 14' beam and 2' extra length gives the boat a bigger boat feel all around, especially in rough water..... Cabin space is substantially bigger and the head has a separate shower.....Performance for the 450 HP Cummin's @ 2100 RPM is 28 GPH. Speed 24.5kts..... Great for a boat that is 24000+ lbs.
