Anyone have any experience with re-sealing the windshield ('95 3100 Open), especailly leaking weather stripping at center vent? Haven't been to dealer yet for pricing, but figured I would powder coat frame pieces while they were off. Is it a DIY job-are parts available?

I have heard horror stories about putting the aluminum windshields back together after they have been disassembled. The windshield was assembled on the deck and then the deck was then massaged into place onto the hull. On my '88 31 Tiara Open I could not find the gasket or figure out how to change it so I cut off the old stuff, masked the area and filled it with GE 50 year grey silicone. Used a putty knife and soapy water to smooth it. Looks better than the original and does not leak or shrink after 6 years in the Florida sun. Capt. George

I am currently a complete "Hollywood Make Over" including windows overhaul on my 1990 Tiara 31. Not a project for the faint of heart or little patience or not much time. Tiara has several types of window gasket material. I found the original replacement type of material the the hinged window bedding. Also working with a professional glass and window installation business in town, they have very ready access to most all available materials. Some which are better than the original. I have installed the original bedding... It looks nice but can't get the center window back in. Currently working with others and looking for any and all suggestions. Welding shut not withstanding.
