Wood steering wheel - Coppifan - 10-06-2018 Is there a source for a wood steering wheel for my 2000, Tiara 3100? RE: Wood steering wheel - jclark003 - 10-06-2018 Vetus makes mahogany and teak destroyer wheels. I believe Tiara sources from them. Go on Vetus's website and take down the model number then do a google search and select a reseller. Just purchsed a beautiful mahogany wheel (KW55) for about $300. RE: Wood steering wheel - Coppifan - 10-08-2018 Thanks for the info. A couple of additional questions please. How difficult is it to take the current wheel off and put the new one on? RE: Wood steering wheel - jclark003 - 10-08-2018 The wheel sits on a taper shaft aptitude a key way. One nut behind the center cap is all that holds it on. I gently wiggled the wheel side to side and it came right off. To be safe would plan on using a wheel puller. They are pretty cheap if you can't borrow one. For the 31' Open go with the Vetus KW45 which is the 18" version. The KW55 is the 22" version and might seem a bit big for the 31 Open helm. |
