Engine Noise - Zanzibar - 06-09-2019
We have a 2003 Tiara with twin Cummins under contract. How is the engine noise? Is it possible to have a conversation when underway?

I have a 36 Sovran with Cummins. The noise is less than my previous 40 Searay with gas engines. It is very easy to carry on a conversation at the helm with others on the boat.

I have twin Cummins 660s and love them. Lots of torque for parking and way more efficient than my old gas engines on my 35 Open.

I have the cat 3208s and we have conversations while running all the time. Its a little loud but not that bad.

I agree, the noise at cruise (2100rpm/23 knts) is not bad on my 38 Open w/Cummins 6CTA diesels...

On my 2003 38 Open w/450 Cummin's I have a pair of Nibral 3 blade propellers 24" dia x 28" pitch. Also with a cup
