Tiara 31 open crusaders getting when WOT - aliyilmaz - 08-14-2019
I have 31' Tiara 1999 with 454xli crusader engines . Port engine i keep getting hot while cruising at 3000 rpm . But not at the dock . Only when WOT . New risers in 2015, new pump last year , brand new impeller , 2018 new oil cooler . She runs perfectly fine even higher rpm at the dock with out getting hot . Only in gear at higher rpm 3000k she is getting hot, getting trans temp alarms and engine as well . Any advise to where to look at this problem would be great.

Obstruction in the oil / transmission cooler would be the first place I would look.

I reread your post and see you already replaced the oil cooler. Time to invest in a heat gun and see where the hot spots are.

Have you had the heat exchanger cleaned?

Thank you i am going to back wash them see anything made in there . Cooler was replaced last year .

some many choices with that heat gun any brand you suggest ??

Had this start at end of last season.
Cleaned coolers - no change.
When I went to change impellers - found water pump bearings bad.
Replaced pump
All good
