2003 42 OPEN - honest mark - 09-16-2019 there is a black rubber groove in the floor when you walk up the stairs from the deck to the captains area, water always gathers on this straight black line, i have a carpeted mat over it but my carpet always gets soaked and im afraid the rubber backing on the carpet will get mold, any solutions for this??? i mean from the bottom deck , up the stairs , thats where the black grooved line is before you get into cockpit area, hope this better explains....thank you RE: 2003 42 OPEN - Maxwell - 09-18-2019 Where is the water coming from? I had the same issue on ours at one point and it was from the AC unit drain pan that they installed under the helm seat base not draining properly as they attached the drain hose to the front of the pan. Fixed this and the issue went away. Max RE: 2003 42 OPEN - honest mark - 09-18-2019 THANK YOU, I WILL CHECK THAT how exactly did you fix it??? RE: 2003 42 OPEN - Maxwell - 09-19-2019 On mine you could either attach the drain hose to the front or the back of the drain pan on the AC unit... The installer (not Tiara) mistakenly attached to the front so when I would run the boat it would overflow instead of drain due to the attitude of the boat. We just moved the hose to the aft drain fitting and all good. This was obviously kind of a fluke... However drain pans can get clogged with debris etc which you can usually clean with a wire coat hanger etc. The pan may also not drain if the condensate hose has any low (uphill) points in it. Not sure where they ran it from the factory but you want to make sure that it didn't come loose anywhere as any slight sag in the hose will cause it to back up since its not pressurized. Other things to check would be plumbing to the wet bar sink to starboard, or if you have an ice maker up there instead of a fridge. Max RE: 2003 42 OPEN - honest mark - 09-19-2019 thank you very much for your help are you getting at these from the engine room??? im confused a lil bit, lol RE: 2003 42 OPEN - Sans Peur - 09-22-2019 Are you referring to the black caulk line that seals the top deck in place? Mine holds a little water but not enough to bother me. I guess you could get some black life seal and build that area up. |
