Getting access to shower sump pump - bbisland - 06-20-2020 Hi Tiara owners, I have an 08 Sovran 3900 with a shower sump pump that won’t stop running. I’ve tried pouring a gallon of water down the drain to un-stick it, but that didn’t work. The only way to stop it is to turn off the battery power to the boat. Does anyone know how to get at the shower sump pump on a Sovran 3900? On the AC diagram of the boat, it looks like access is somewhere under the midship port side couch. I have the electric actuated couches, and not sure how to get fully under there. Can anyone lend some wisdom? Thanks in advance! I was able to gain access to the shower sump and holding tank area under the mid cabin stb side seat. The seat back has 1 1/8 metal pin/guides that allow the seat back slide along the track as the electric actuated death converts to the couch. That metal pin was a real challenge to slide out but eventually it gave it up, and I was able to lift the seat back up to expose the hatches to gain access. There are two pumps in there. One for the shower that’s enclosed in a clear box with a separate float switch and plastic tube strainer and another outside of the box a few inches aft. Looks like I had a holding tank overflow at some point as the bilge showed evidence of that. Ugh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Getting access to shower sump pump - Donaldjames - 09-08-2020 When you slid the couch back to expose the two hatches did you need to remove a screw in the hatch cover ( the one on the left side ) to get the hatch open ? I need to get into mine to clean the bilge as mine keeps going off intermittiintly but there is no water in there ( id not think anyway ) , I think it might have some hair or something binding the float . I just found it odd that in addition to the latch for the cover it had a screw in there as well. Thanks for any help you can give . |
