3200 Open - leaking porthole - CTTiara32 - 11-07-2020 Hey all. I picked up my new (2006) 3200 Open last month. On the three hour ride home in 4-6 footers, there was some water leaking in through the porthole in the kitchen. Is this something simple to fix by re-caulking the trim, or do I have to worry about moisture in-between the glass now? I am semi-handy, but I also know there are times when I need the professionals. Is this a time for a professional? Thanks, CTTiara32 P.S. The three hour ride home was a breeze in the Tiara! 3200 Open - leaking porthole - Misdirection - 11-08-2020 Portlights typically leak in one of two ways. Either the gasket needs replaced or the portlight frame needs rebedded. Both are maintenance items. Try applying dielectric grease in a thin film on the gasket to help it seat and seal better. If that does'nt work you can replace the gasket but it's a bit of work as the gasket and the screen are glued into the channel together. RE: 3200 Open - leaking porthole - 3200Open - 11-11-2020 Hello, I have the 2008 32 open but assume the same windows. Mine just needed to be cleaned (rubber gasket when window is open) and the the tabs that hold the window shut needed to be tightened to put more pressure on the seal. Worked fine after that. |
