1999 Tiara Express / 9kw Onan - Keolson321 - 11-11-2020

Would anyone know which diesel tank the generator is connected to and how to re-prime the generator? Thanks!

My ONAN 9kW is connected to the starboard diesel tank ( 3800 2004)

My 9KW Onan Generator on a 2003 38 Open is connected to the starboard tank. To prime the generator use start/stop button on the generator itself and depress it down (stop) position. After a few seconds you should hear the electric fuel pump and see a "yellow" light blinking on the start/stop button. Keep depressed for 30-60 seconds and the yellow blinking should get faster and faster... After 30-60 seconds depresses the start/stop button up (start). Generator should crank and after a short period start. If it doesn't start try to prime again (depress button and watch yellow indicator light blinking). see picture ..M2C

Based on your profile, you have a 4000? I have the same. On our boats, the Gen pulls from the center “Aux” tank and you can’t change that (like you can the mains).

Access to the top of the tank is under the panel directly in front of the fridge.

The generator on my 1998 4000 Express feeds from and returns to ONLY the center tank (diagram from owners' manual attached). Priming instructions are in the "Fuel System" section of the Operators Manual (sharing mine here: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]) and just for giggles, I've attached the parts & maintenance schedule sheet to this message.

I can't share much practical experience with you just yet but I hope all the documentation helps.
