RE: New owner of 1999 Tiara 3100 Open - ReelMagic - 02-19-2021 Congratulations on your purchase of a great boat. I owned a 31 Open w/Crusaders for 10 years and traveled extensively in the northeast... Now own a 38 Open w/Cummins diesels and love the boat. Have this one for 13 years and plan on keeping it as it does all we want. Great for short and long trips as well as social gatherings with the large cockpit. RE: New owner of 1999 Tiara 3100 Open - ReelMagic - 02-21-2021 As I said I owned a 1997 31 Open till 2007 when I purchased my 38 Open. The 31 had Crusader 454 FI w/o a gen set. Traveled extensively in the Northeast those years. Just my wife and myself on our boat but also with friends on their boats. Typically 3-4 boats. Cruises included what we called a northern trip taking us up the Hudson to the Champlain canal, to Lake Champlain, to the Richelieu River/Canal to the St Lawrence ending in Montreal or Quebec City. Our 2nd Cruise, called the eastern cruise took us toward Newport RI, Buzzards Bay to Cape Cod, north to Boston, Salem, Gloucester returning to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Block Island, and Montauk before running home on the North Shore of Long Island. Our Southern trip took us to NYC, south toward Atlantic City, to Cape May, up the Delaware to the C&D canal to the northern end of the Chesapeake then South to Baltimore, Annapolis, the Solomon's, returning on the east side to Kent Island, St. Michael's, and other marinas before returning home via C&D canal, Cape May, Atlantic City, and Shark River. Each of these trips were 3-3.5 weeks and done in mixed weather conditions. Each done several times and the 31 always performed well in all sea states. Never felt we needed a gen set as we always stopped overnight at a marina.. Cruise speed was 23.5 knots (sea state permitting) @ 3200-3300 burning 32 GPH.... M2C. |
