non skid - lakesidevu - 04-24-2021 I have some staining on the non skid on a 31 open possibly from leaves. What is the best way to clean the non skid other than using starbrite/softscrub type prouducts? The smooth surfaced fiberglass is clean with no problems. Does any one have any hacks? I have heard about toliet bowl cleaner and the mari kate products you can get at west marine. I just want to get it clean. RE: non skid - MC1600 - 04-24-2021 I have used Barkeepers Friend in the past, but sparingly. Just yesterday, I discovered it comes liquified in a spray/foam bottle which I like even more. Did a great job on my nonskid and a bit gentler than some of those other chemicals. I think part of the trick is using a smaller brush and going the opposite direction you normally do. With my deck brush, there’s a lot of fore/aft action due to space. By getting down close with a smaller handheld brush, I (or rather my 8 year old — HA!) was able to get more port/starboard scrubbing action. RE: non skid - ReelEnjoyment - 04-24-2021 Stains That has to be the worst I have spot treated and scrubbed with simple green using a stiff short bristle brush I have heard from several dock mates that woody's wax works good I'm not real impressed with west marines nonskid cleaner or that long bristle brush they sell If it is a mold type stain marine 31 would be my choice Stains are a blight to boaters , I swear if I buy another boat it will be mud brown instead of white |
