Access to cockpit wiring (1988 3300 open) - cp4000 - 05-11-2021 Hi everyone, Was told that the back of the cockpit wiring could be accessed through the head. I have the ceiling panel off as well as the angled panel off and just fiberglass. The stern facing wall in the head looks like a pain to get off and would rather avoid if there is no access behind it. Starting to think the only access is by removing the dash panel and the access panel with the step mounted on it. I have a few gauges that are not operational and I can see wires dragging on the companionway door. Would like to inspect, organize and reroute some wiring. Can this be accessed through the head or just from the cockpit side. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! RE: Access to cockpit wiring (1988 3300 open) - Lucky Dog 33 - 12-30-2021 Did you ever figure this out? I have the same dilemma. RE: Access to cockpit wiring (1988 3300 open) - cp4000 - 01-02-2022 Unfortunately, the only way to access the gauges and wiring is through the instrument panel. It is a pain and very awkward to work around. Once I had in opened, I realized there is no other access point to the wiring so I have just been careful and suffered through it. My recommendation, do everything at once so you don't have to keep going in there over and over like I did. Good luck! |
