2003 35 open Broken water line - Sea Baz - 05-24-2021
Having trouble even finding threads that deal with broken water lines. Seems all I get is no results found, I find this hard to believe. My problem, I have a broken water line that feeds the cockpit ice maker and sink. I can see the water spraying out of the broken line when looking through the bottom of the ice maker.
1 - How is the ice maker removed, through the opening? What connections do I need to be aware of?
2- There is a water line with a T- fittings one for ice maker and one for the sink. How are they removed and taken apart. It's the line that goes to the sink that is split.
3 - How is the faucet removed from underneath? after Ice maker is out?
4- Where can I obtain the new hose/water line required and fittings.
I thought there would have been water shutoff to the outside water lines, No. You cannot use any water when there is a broken line for the vaccuflush head or sink in cabin.
Any help would be appreciated.

1- ice maker is removed by unscrewing several screws around the front perimeter and the unit slides right out the front of cabinet. Water line to sink should have a tee with a compression fitting to nylon tubing that feeds ice maker. Note I’ve had these rupture before. If it is the nylon tubing best to replace it all as it gets old and brittle.
2- the supply lines are probably Whale 15mm pex tubing. The tubing can usually be removed from the fittings by pushing the inner collet in while pulling the tubing out. There is probably a diagram on whalepumps.com. Be sure it’s not the nylon ice maker tubing before tearing it all apart.
3- never had to remove but suspect there is a mounting flange accessed from below.
4 - if pex tubing bad, google whale marine pex tubing. Fittings should be reusable. If nylon ice maker tubing bad go to local hardware store and get tubing and compression fittings.
There should be a sink/ice maker shutoff directly below in the engine room. Some Tiaras have a water manifold with shut offs for different parts of boat. Not sure about your 35.

Admiral, thank you for the reply. The information was very helpful and detailed enough for me purchase parts and fix. There was no water shutoff in engine compartment plan to add one.
