What is this tank used for? Could it be the waste tank? or related to the waste system?

Not sure but it looks like a gray water tank...All sink/shower water goes there and then is pumped overboard via the pump on top.

My 41' had that. It is the gray water tank. Mine had 2 pumps. One on top of the tank and another half way back to the discharge. The breaker panel had 2 breakers for them. There is a float switch in the tank. Leave the breakers on and it will take care of itself.
