Our new 2002 3500 Open! - Fiddlehead - 07-28-2014
Hello all,
We're the happy new owners of an '02 3500 Open ... Flag Blue hull, 8.1 Crusaders, brand new Furuno electronics, the works.
Picked her up near the end of last season and have been having a blast all Summer long. I'd never have guessed those big Crusaders would have been so powerful. They're not as bad on fuel as I'd feared either. I did the 'gas vs. diesel' debate long and hard before making up my mind, but I'm really happy I ended up with the boat I have. It's a great rig!
I'm impressed with how stable the boat is in rough seas. We got caught in some bad weather a couple of weeks ago out in the Gulf of Maine, and ended up in some 10-12 footers (pretty scary, and not by choice) where we definitely did not want to be. My wife hated it, and I wasn't too thrilled, but the boat handled it great!

I have the diesel version 2001 model year. Love the boat. They handle very well which gives you a secure feeling. I'm sure your going to enjoy it and create many enjoyable memiories.
