4000 Express Rope Light in Master - MC1600 - 10-01-2021

I'm getting ready to change out the incandescent rope light under the fascia in the master stateroom on my '99 4000.  I've run into two questions I'm hoping someone who's done this before might be able to help with:

1.  The switch for the light is on the port side, but the rope seems to get its power supply over on the starboard side.  Makes no sense, but I cannot find any power supple on the port side by the switch.
2.  How in the devil did you remove the old light?  It appears to be glued between two trim pieces, and I'd love to avoid disassembling the entire stateroom if possible.

Thanks guys.  Appreciate any help someone might be able to offer!

I have a rope light in my 50 Open that has a bunch of lights out. If you figure out how to get it out please post up so I can do mine.

Bumping this to see if anyone can help. Would love to get this thing out without trashing my cabin.

Based on your thread I tried to take mine out...although its working.   My is just in a plastic track.  I was able to pull down a few feet and then press it back in place with minimal effort.    Is yours not sitting in a track?

Your rope light is in a track or is it your fascia piece? My fascia seems attached somehow with the rope light glued and stapled in between that and the horizontal support that holds the fluorescent lights.

Did anyone figure out how to replace rope light in the master. Jack

I went over mine, Jack, and it seems to be working great. I left the old one in, used 3M double sided tape (for like car trim pieces) and wired mine to the existing wiring. The oddest part is that the wiring connections are on the stbd side but the switches are on the port.

Regardless, it was very straightforward and the only way someone could tell is literally climbing up under there. Even looks right in the mirror on the forward bulkhead.
