Airmar Transducer Problems - Betterdays123 - 08-17-2014
Northstar 6000i with an Airmar transducer.
At first the top quarter of the screen was a deep red.
Now it's all red and 0.0 on the depth.
I believe it shoots thru the hull layer.
Where do I start trouble shooting?
Any help would be appreciated.

I would disconnect the Xducer cable and turn the Northstar ON. If the screen display is good you have a bad Xducer. If the screen is still red its time to shop for a new Northstar unit. I have had problems with a bad Xducer that caused the display power supply to also fail. Time to call a good marine electronics tech. Capt. George
