98 3100 Open front bilge manual Switch? - robh19 - 12-24-2021

Howdy, my mechanic is telling me there’s a front bilge pump under the stairs into the cabin. It appears to be in front of the shower sump. Does anyone know where the switch for this pump is? It seems to have stopped working and doesn’t appear to have a float switch to activate it. Ideas?  Thanks.

There is no switch. It was an auto pump that originally ran every 90 seconds or so.  You probably need a new pump. I got rid of the auto pump and put in a regular one, with the float s witch, and had a manual switch installed at helm.

The first response is correct
auto bilge pump cycles on a set time base intervals.
As for which switch controls it
Mine was on one of the helm control circuit breakers.
You could try to use a non contact current test pen on the feed wires and then toggle
Circuit breakers
Good luck

Under the stairs on my 1997 31 there is a push button breaker for the front bilge.   You would push it to activate the breaker and pull it up to turn it off.  The bilge pump will run about every 90 seconds as mentioned in the responses above.  It can get very annoying when trying to sleep on the boat.  You also need to remember to turn off the breaker if you haul the boat out or it will run all winter etc.

I had an issue with my 1996 pursuit 3100. I was getting major water intrusion under the teak/holly flooring due to leak in my anchor well.

The easiest fix is to install new pump with water level switch. I attach water level switch to hull with a clean dry hull surface and 5200. Works great. Fixed water intake issue. My hull is dry as a bone for the past several years.

Good luck!

Should be on a breaker under the stairs. There is a breaker for each of the 3 bilge pumps.
