New 1996 3100 owner - West coast. - wabbit - 03-11-2022
New 3100 Open owner - purchased a 1996 boat with a friend of mine. First boat we've owned.
Based in the San Francisco Bay and plan on doing a good bit of fishing.
Couple of things I'm thinking of doing - one is to upgrade to a modern fish finder. Other is to add a kicker so I can troll for halibut without idling the 454's. Would love to know if anyone's had success with that.

You might have to mount 2 kickers.
We troll on one motor and usually have to toss out a bag for speed.
With a 31 footer wind and waves would more than likely overwhelm kickers and they would have to be in excess of 25HPs.

Thanks much. I'll try the 1 engine + bag trick first. Sounds much cheaper.
