2008 sovran 3900 Steering Hub / Drive by Wire - VPelliccia - 03-20-2022 Hello My sovran normally has little resistance to steering inputs. The Hub lock on autopilot. However lately it get very stiff and I have to work to steer the boat. THe Hub is not mechanically connected to the steering as this is drive by wire. I'm thinking this is an electronic issue inside the hub. Any deas? It’s my understanding that the autopilot must allow the steering inputs and relax the electronic resistance. On my Garmin it will specifically show on the screen that this is activated if I steer. If it’s stiff otherwise when the autopilot is not in use, there are known issues with IPS and stiff steering caused by a number of potential problems. HCU and steering knuckles are two that I’m aware of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
