2005 Tiara 3800 bait tank install - Hemlock_SF - 03-26-2022 I am getting ready to install a 48 gallon Bluewater bait tank and need to cut in an inspection hatch in the deck between the aft fish box and the fuel shut off hatch. The deck appears to be about 2” thick, does anyone know what the composition of the the deck is? RE: 2005 Tiara 3800 bait tank install - hiccup - 03-28-2022 If I'm following you, that is directly over the fuel tanks. There is also an aluminum plate molded into the deck intended to be used to reinforce the mounting of a fighting chair or rocket launcher that you will have to contend with. I believe the size & location of the plate is detailed in the user manual, if not then I would bet Tiara could supply it to you. RE: 2005 Tiara 3800 bait tank install - Hemlock_SF - 03-30-2022 Thank you Hiccup, I have reached out to Customer service to see if I can get a size and location. I have confirmed that it is there by drilling a small hole, I am hoping to work around it and not have to cut through it. My plan is to cut in a 7” x 11” inspection cover then have a plywood cleat above and below deck bolted together so that I have no deck fasteners. RE: 2005 Tiara 3800 bait tank install - Hemlock_SF - 03-30-2022 Confirmed from Tiara the plate size is 21” x 21” x 1/2” aluminum plate. Might have to offset the tank a little |
