Upgrading AC Pump and Strainer - MC1600 - 09-21-2022 I've never missed an opportunity to mention how much I hate the placement of the 4000's AC strainer and pump under the trunk floor. This is a particular pain during the height of sea nettle season here on the Bay. To try and build a bit more time in between cleanings (which can sometimes be twice a day), I'm considering increasing the size of my strainer and going up a size in pump. I currently have the Little Giant 3-MD-SC (750gph) and a Groco 750 strainer. My plan would be to expand to the 4-MD-SC (850gph) and bump up to a Groco 1000. Do you guys like this plan? I originally wanted to just move the strainer and pump into the engine room but that would a) create a pretty long run from the thru-hull and b) require quite a bit more modification to the whole system. |
