Coronet 2900 - Water in forward bilge - wham - 10-18-2022

Hi

I have noticed some water in the forward bilge area which is accessed via the panel under the steps. Is this normal?
As there is no forward bilge pump does this water get pumped out by the mid bilge pump in the engine area?
Any help would be appreciated.

Water in the bilge is always a fun game.

I’d start with things where you know there’s water…shower dumps (is the pump failing?), shaft seals, and rudder ports. If those are all working properly, check things like faucets and fixtures. Finally, I’d look at leaks like from deck side fittings, windows, etc.

First, clean up the water. Does it come back? How fast? Next, look In every compartment for any “trails.” Takes some investigative work.

I had some mystery water up forward under my shower sump. Everything worked properly and I could find no leaks. Cleaned it up and discovered it only came back after like a weekend onboard. It became a real head-scratcher. In the end, the pump in my shower sump was failing. Just so happened it would be running when I would check it. Replaced the pump and water is gone.

Thanks for that.
I will empty it out and start to investigate.
No shower or a/c on boat so is either head or kitchen sink.
As there is no forward bilge pump, I would assume if it was to become a problem, there water would make its way to the mid bilge where the mid bilge pump would kick in??

Check your anchor.locker drain. I had an old boat (not Tiara) that would get clogged and run the water into the forward bilge.
