Installing windlass - mc307tank - 03-03-2023 I am looking at installing a windlass in my 88 3100 open, I am retiring soon and am tired of pulling up and dropping my anchor. I got with Tiara and got the P1-T1 Bow Roller Installation and P1-T1 C3 Anchor Windlass diagrams, now where do I find an anchor chute and does anyone have recommendations on what chute or windlass to install? Should it be all chain or chain and rope. If all chain, what size chain? Any recommendations on length of chain to have? It will be on Erie so my existing fluke anchor will work. Not sure what it weighs though. This is going to be next winters project so I have time to get it all straight Installing windlass - Misdirection - 03-03-2023 I have 150' of chain on my rode. I'm out in the Central basin. Only ever drug anchor once while perch fishing, and I probably had no business being out there that day. Chain size has to match the windlass. What's nice with an all chain rode is it provides a little extra weight in the bow locker to help bring the bow down. I also have my chain painted in differenr colors so I know how much is out. I looked in mine and only found a gray wire running to the old remote spotlight. Anyone got a suggestion on what they look like or where they could be found? Thanks Installing windlass - Misdirection - 03-05-2023 Not until I can get at my boat. I usually dont start spring maintenance until after Easter. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk |
