Water in forward Bilge 52 Tiara - Nick997 - 05-05-2023 Hey guys. New to to form. I have a 52 Sovern. Amazing boat absolutely love it. Since I bought it have had continuous water appear in forward bilge. 2-5 gallons. The water is fresh and always has weird brown spots here and there see pictures. Water has no taste and little Oder so ruling out holding tank leak. I discovered a leaky shower drain line but after repair the water still kept coming. Only way to clean out it wet dry vacuum. I’ve tried everything, no obvious solution. Anyone else had a similar issue? Appreciate the help in advance. Gotta get to the bottom of this!!! Also the boat just went in the water and it does appear there is a slight antifreeze pink hue to the water. So this leads me to believe it must be water from the tank and not rainwater. RE: Water in forward Bilge 52 Tiara - MC1600 - 05-05-2023 I had a similar issue on my 4000. First it was a failing pump in my shower sump. It would work intermittently but not at full strength. That fixed it briefly then it came back. Ended up discovering a cracked check valve just outside the same shower sump. I think I’ve finally got it squared away, but that gives you a couple things to check. RE: Water in forward Bilge 52 Tiara - jclark003 - 05-05-2023 I have a 52 and had a similar problem. Turned out to be a hot water tank leak that would only manifest itself when the heater was on. The two heaters each sit on a platform that should show signs of water or dampness if they are leaking. Other sources that can leave water in the forward bilges are FW tank leaking, FW pump leaking, shower sump and various drain lines. The shower sump seems to be workeng. Dave RE: Water in forward Bilge 52 Tiara - Lobsta - 05-22-2023 How long does it take to get to 2-5 gallons? If its from the fresh water system you will hear the pump come on every now and then to repressurize the system. If not from the supply side, try putting some dye in some water and dumping down each drain. you could use two different colors for supply and drain. Pumps don't come on so I it is not from the supply side. By chance have you had any experience with leaking port lights or as I call them port hole windows. I have one that is leaking very badly from the back |
