Swim platform soft spot - Ngrias12 - 06-14-2023
Hey everyone I have a 04 Sovran 3600, I’m beginning to get a soft spot in the swim platform near the ladder. Has anyone had this issue and if so how did you correct it? Thanks in advance!

If your swim platform construction is the same as mine it is made up of core encased with fiberglass top and bottom. Water infiltration that gets between the fiberglass layers saturates the core and creates the soft spot you’re experiencing. If it can wait until your next haul out, have your yard access the platform from underneath and remove the bottom layer of fiberglass and remove the compromised core. They can recommend rebuilding it with marine plywood, fiberglass, etc. This process leaves the top side of your platform undisturbed and retains its original appearance.
