Has anyone come up against a project of installing a hardtop cover on a 1998 3500 Open? If so would you share your thoughts with me please.

I put one on mine around 2004, it was from factory. At that time about $19 k, best option I. Ever added to boat.

The cheapest option is likely atlantic towers. They are a decent value but not up to the quality or appearance of a factory top or one made by a good custom shop. $19k is crazy high for 2004 pricing, but that is because it was from the factory. I had a custom top designed/fabbed/fully installed circa 2010 and it was about $10k. I would expect a custom top today to be in the $20k range, but it can go way up from there depending on options.
Get a price from atlantic towers (they likely have pictures of one or more 3500's they've done) and then get prices from a couple local shops. I agree that a hardtop completely transforms a boat like this, both in appearance and usability of the helm deck, and is a very worthwhile upgrade.
