Windline boarding ladder - twilson0929 - 06-28-2023
I have a 2001 3800 open that has the original 3 step Windline boarding ladder build into the swim platform and covered. Not getting any younger, could use a fourth step. Has anyone replaced this original ladder with a 4 step ladder or made some other modification. Any advice on a specific replacement ladder is helpful. I would need it to fit in the original location on the swim platform. Any advise is appreciated.

We're in the same boat.. My wife has trouble getting up using the original Windline ladder and I contacted windline directly several years ago to see if they could add a fourth step to my 2003 38 Open swim ladder. Well!!!! Windline was willing to help but the cost ($$$$) seemed way to much as the ladders on the 38 were custom made for Tiara by Windline.. It appears the standard 4 rung ladder they sell is narrower and folds different... As a result we didn't do anything... I'm OK but my wife can't board using the original ladder.... We're 75+ but we still enjoy the boat very much.

Another idea that I had but haven't done is to add a rung using 3/8" nylon and a wooden step. The rung would be made and then spliced to the last rung on the current ladder.. Each side of the new rung would be line going through a piece of wood (the new rung) to the last step... Just a thought
