Westerbeke Generator no start - Joeboch348 - 01-27-2024

93 3100. My westerbeke 3cyl generator was running perfect. The aluminum exhaust piece that clamps to the exhaust manifold rotted and made it loud. A simple replacement and now I have nothing. Doesn’t crank over unless I jump the starter. Only wiring involved is the overheat sensor. I musta knocked a wire off something with my fat ass.

I did the same thing last year. I knocked one of the sensor wire off. I dont remember which one but I would just go through and pull and clean the terminals. You should be able to get info from westerbeke in marblehead MA. They are very helpful and a good resource for your genset.

Check the stopping solenoid too. Pull (or is it push?) that little piston all the way in or out and try it. Might need to hold it by hand and start it at the Gen to test.

It was a simple fuse. I looked at it 3-4 times. Looked good but a meter proved otherwise. Thanks
