Westerbeke 5.0 BCDB - jsheerin - 09-30-2024
Having issues with my generator. Was shutting down after around 5 minutes and blowing 8 amp fuse on control box. Changed all fueil and oil filters and engine oil. Replaced oil pressure sensor and still no improvement.
Last attempt however, ended with grinding sound, then sparks from the back end. My guess from internet research is the bearing went and messed up the armature inside. Would anyone with knowledge agree?

I would call Hanson Maine - They are the Westerbeke guru's in the Northeast. Very helpful bunch. Doesn't sound good though. Good Luck! 781-631-3282

That is exactly how my back end went out. Windings were bad in the back of the generator at only 450 hours.
