Replacing fuel full hose 3100 Open - Joeboch348 - 07-31-2025 Hey! I need to replace a fuel fill hose on a 1993 3100 open. Any tips/tricks? Anyone know size of hose and length I’ll need Thanks RE: Replacing fuel full hose 3100 Open - S4Survivor - 08-20-2025 Just did mine - Get ready for a lot of cursing and banged knuckles. It will take 10 feet of 2" rated, wire reinforced and dated fuel hose. Open inspection plates and take a picture of the number Believe I used a shields hose, sorry threw the old ones out with code number. Its gonna cost about $200 for 10'. Remove clamps carefully DO NOT YANK ON HOSE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE - IF YOU BREAK THE NECK FITTING ON THE TANK YOU MAY AS WELL JUNK THE BOAT FOR WHAT IT WILL ENTAIL TO FIX BECAUSE OF THE TANKS LOCATION AND MOUNTING UNDER THE DECK. I used a caulking trowel (1/2" wide version of a margin trowel with rounded leading corners ) to gradually separate hose from fitting - spray WD or CRC into space around hose to try to gradually loosen. THAT'S THE EASY PART you will probably have to carefully cut the hose in 1/4" increments then use a long handled pair of dikes to snip each loop of the reinforcing wire. COVER FITTING Same procedure on side deck with cap fitting - laying on your back with one hand thru other inspection plate. Best to raise engine cover and put bright light by exhaust hose. Careful with ground strap on machine bolt. lay hoses in sun 2-3 hours to soften to a workable state. Use snake to fish hose thru bulkhead from engine side into space over tank -install in reverse order. Plan on 10 or 12 hours unless you're a 4' tall -70lbs contortionist - which i am not - CAREFUL & GOOD LUCK That's's for both sides |
