It will drill down to a specific recommendation based on your exact replacement needs. RE: Alternative Alternators to Balmar - hiccup - 09-17-2025 N type externally regulated alternators are pretty rare. Any alternator shop should be able to convert an N type to P type. A good alternator shop should also be able to convert an internally regulated alternator to P type externally regulated as well. That said, you might be better off going to a simple internally regulated alternator. Tiara opted for the external regulation mostly because they favored gel cell batteries which are very voltage sensitive. With AGM batteries, internally regulated is fine, and much more common and therefore less expensive. If you decide you want to stick with a high performance alternator that is externally regulated but a little less expensive than Balmar, check out the Arco Zeus line, an A225S should fit. |
