I have a 2008 43 Sovran with IPS and love it. Maintenance can’t be neglected and it cost a little more to maintain than conventional systems however the efficiency is great and the maneuverability is unbelievable. Yeah someone will say “I can drive twin screws so I don’t need pods”...not a single person talks it down after they drive this boat.
Upgrade to the stainless wear ring and new seals then change the oil as prescribed and all will be good.

I couldn’t agree more with rapnjar. We own a 2008 29 Sovran with ips500 and love it! The usability in any condition completely outweighs the extra maintenance.
