I do apologize for the downtime over the last 24 hours. We moved to a new server and it took longer than expected!

Site Restructuring

As you all can see, I have been busy tinkering with the site.

1) The forum core software has been updated.
2) A new look as been 90% implemented and is now more tablet and smart phone friendly. While Tapatalk is currently offered it's not as necessary as it has been in the past.
3) New forum categories are being created and existing threads are being moved to more appropriate categories.
4) When creating a new thread you can now add a model prefix. IE: [Tiara Open]. This prefix will show before the thread title when browsing the forum. It will allow a quick visual as to what model the post is referring to. Setting a prefix is not required.

An explanation of #3:

Many of the questions asked are about specific parts or accessories that are not necessarily model specific. Asking about a issue with the turbo on a diesel engine and posting it in the Tiara Open forum gets lost. Moving forward all of these post will be much better organized making it much easier to find the information for all users.

While the Model specific forums are being depreciated you will still be able to post in the new [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] forum. Adding a prefix will make it a bit easier to identify specific model threads.

As always, I would like to hear from you guys on what works and what doesn't. What you like and what you don't. My goal here is to make disseminating information on this site a less painful process!

Earlier this morning I performed a forum upgrade. This upgrade was to the forum core software. An upgrade to the style of the forum is coming as well.

Our move to a new web host is complete!

Recent Site Downtime 1/19/2016

Our recent downtime has been a very disappointing and frustrating time. Our current host was once a first class operation used by thousands. They were recent acquired by a large company and service and performance has gone down hill rapidly.

I am preparing to move the site to a new host this coming weekend. While the site will be down during that period it should only last for an hour or so, assuming there are no glitches during the transition.

Tapatalk Now Active

Until I am able to move the site to a responsive design that will work across all devices I have install Tapatalk. When you visit the site with a mobile device you will be presented with an option to download the Tapatalk app. If you have the app just type in Tiara Owners Club in the "Explore" are.

Tapatalk is completely optional. If you don't want it just dismiss the window.

Forum Upgrade

I am strongly considering a forum upgrade. This would be a move to a completely new, modern forum system. The conversion is not for the light of heart and would likely take the forum down for a few days.

The down side... user passwords cannot be migrated. This means all users would need to click a link to request a password reset. It will send a email to the users email address with a link to reset. The biggest problem here is, if your email address has changed but you didn't update your profile you'll have to email me to reset it. Most, if not all, images and attachments won't migrate. AND all internal links in posts will no longer work.

The up side... We will no longer be trapped and this hellish forum software we currently have. Posting images/attachments will be a breeze. We'll also be on a modern, continually updated code base ensuring we will always be moving forward as new features become available. This moves us into the 21st century.

I don't have a specific time frame for this change but feel it's something that needs to be done if we want to grow as a community.

Moving to a new server

As requested, we are making some site changes. We have added new model forums in addition to some cosmetic changes. Small changes will be rolling out over the next few weeks.

Site Structure Suggestions?

It was suggested in another thread that we improve the organizational structure of the site and we would like your suggestions. By forum layout I mean : Specific forums for specific models, maybe grouped by size or year range? Not just that but separate forums for engine issues, electronics, electrical, and so on.

Do you guys have any thoughts on how to best lay things out OR do you think it's fine the way it is?

How can you help?

At the top of every thread there is a Facebook Like button and a Tweet button. Using these helps get the word out.
Once you have registered for the forum... post! Posts are viewed by members and guests, and many motivate guests to register and become TOC members, who again post. This creates a virtual/viral snowball. The more members, the more posts. The more posts the larger the knowledge base, and so on, and so on.
Tell your dealer or broker about us! Encourage them to register and share their knowledge with the community... with out being spammy of course
