4000 Express...couple of comments/questions - August Rush - 09-27-2020 Cross Posted to owners group on Facebook. On my 3rd weekend with my new to me 40 Express. First off, love the boat and the ride. Some things I have questions on: The indirect doce lighting which are fluorescent bulbs with ballasts are making a period clicking noise. They work but the clicking is annoying? Anyone encountered this and suggest a fix? Why are there 2 freshwater pumps? No accumulator? Onan Genset DC breaker keeps tripping. Works most times but also trips at others. Foredeck areas collects water. Puddles up around anchor windlass deck clear etc. Zero slope so the water just sits. Was thinking of having a glass guy install a weeping hole into anchor locker so there is at least a path for the water to go other than through the hardware mounting holes. Deck is solid but had elevated moisture levels. Seems like a flawed design in my opinion. RE: 4000 Express...couple of comments/questions - Sans Peur - 09-27-2020 I have never heard fluorescent lights click. Not sure what that would be. Did you try a new bulb? My 41 has twin freshwater pumps without an accumulator. By running both it keeps the water pressure pretty steady and powerful. Good flow with both running. I am not sure about the DC breaker. Is it doing it at startup or while running? If at startup you may need to check the starter and see how many amps it is drawing. RE: 4000 Express...couple of comments/questions - emarrero - 10-22-2020 I think the anchor locker already has a drain, no? RE: 4000 Express...couple of comments/questions - CaptainJake - 11-04-2020 The DC breaker trips often when the temp is high. Replacing the impeller AND cleaning the cooler have fixed that for me. |
