Stain Color - Matta0413 - 01-25-2021 So I had to take my stairs out to change some circuit breakers. I needed to get the old caulk off the stairs and the wall, so I used caulk remover. Well it also removed the stain on the wall. Does anyone know what color stain Tiara was using in 2002? I am guessing it is Early American or something similar. RE: Stain Color - jclark003 - 01-25-2021 Drop Tiara a note and they will give you both stain color and manufacture. I know on my '01 the teak was natural with a satin urathane finish. No stain. RE: Stain Color - drywater - 04-14-2021 I was able to match a swatch of original finish/stain (hidden underneath the galley bench) in my boat with Varathane dark walnut stain. Most people would think this would be too dark, but I did not let it soak in and the wood was sanded to 220 grit (which further prevents the wood from soaking in too much). You could also try Special Walnut, which is lighter, and build up the correct darkness in multiple coats. RE: Stain Color - Matta0413 - 04-14-2021 Thanks Drywater. Tiara told me that that they do not use any stain. The dark tint is purely age. |
